Hi! I’m Lauren. It’s nice to meet you! Food has been an interest of mine since I was a toddler, requesting my parents read me selections from a few illustrated children’s cookbooks instead of more typical bedtime fare. I have conducted strawberry ice cream tastings on three continents, and I am on a one woman mission to educate the world on the difference between a macaroon and a macaron. My co-writer and I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in May (2012), where we were copy chiefs for our school newspaper Student Life. Many, MANY giggle (and pizza)-filled, AP Stylebook-centered nights later and we had our own column: Cooking with Copy which detailed our adventures in the kitchen and with the food of local establishments (read: tasteless sponges called cupcakes from a nearby bakery). Some of my other interests include cultural criticism, cities, the web, travel, stationery, Anthropologie, Legally Blonde, J.Crew, The Parent Trap, sending boxes of cookies to friends near and far, and fluffy animals.
